The Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) has announced the opening of applications for its three-month student attachment programme, offering opportunities across 17 departments.
In a statement released on Friday, November 14, the Authority invited ongoing university students to apply and gain practical experience in fields related to ICT, telecommunications, broadcasting, and postal services.
According to the notice, the attachment opportunities span a wide range of disciplines. Students pursuing degrees in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, and Records Management Studies can apply for positions within the Human Resources and Administration department.

Those studying Mass Communication, Public Relations, Journalism, Media Studies, and Media & Communication Studies are encouraged to apply to the Corporate Communications department.
Learners in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Economics, and Business Administration can seek opportunities in the Finance & Accounts section.
The Supply Chain Management department is open to students in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, and Business Administration.
Meanwhile, technical departments including Frequency and Spectrum Management, Compliance Enforcement, and Monitoring, Inspection & Regional Coordination are searching for students in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Radio Frequency Engineering, and ICT.
Additional opportunities are available in Postal and Telecom Licensing for students pursuing Telecommunications, Communications Engineering, and Business Law.
The Information Technology and Cybersecurity departments are open to applicants studying IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, and Cybersecurity.
Eligibility and Requirements
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be ongoing students in a recognized university.
- Have a field of study that aligns with the department they wish to join.
- Demonstrate interest in gaining hands-on experience within a dynamic regulatory environment.
The CA noted that successful applicants will work alongside experienced professionals, gaining real-world exposure while contributing to the development of Kenya’s ICT sector.

The application deadline is November 21 at 5:00 p.m. (EAT). Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews.
This announcement follows the government’s continued efforts to expand opportunities for young Kenyans. Earlier this month, President William Ruto revealed a new agreement with Qatar that will create 13,000 additional job opportunities for Kenyans across various fields.
“We welcome Qatar’s offer of 13,000 new job opportunities… This will increase the Kenyan workforce in Qatar to about 90,000,” Ruto said, emphasizing that such initiatives aim to empower youth with global exposure, competitive earnings, and improved livelihoods.
