The Office of the 4th President Uhuru Kenyatta has dismissed claims that the former Head of State called for a meeting with DCP Party leader Rigathi Gachagua and leaders from the Mt Kenya region.
In a statement issued on Thursday, January 29, the office raised concern over what it described as deliberate misinformation being shared online.
“The Office of the 4th President Uhuru Kenyatta has observed with concern the circulation of false and misleading content on social media platforms,” the statement read.

The office said the claims are false and unauthorized.
“These posts do not in any way represent the views or position of Uhuru Kenyatta,” it added.
The office clarified that only official channels are allowed to communicate on behalf of the retired President.
It said any official statements will only be shared through the Office of the 4th President or verified Jubilee Party platforms.
The office warned Kenyans against relying on unverified posts shared on social media.
It also urged the public to verify information before sharing it.
“We urge all citizens to exercise vigilance and avoid amplifying falsehoods that erode public trust,” the statement said.
The office emphasized the need to protect the dignity of the Office of the 4th President.
The statement comes amid heightened political speculation surrounding Uhuru Kenyatta.
Weeks earlier, Uhuru’s ally Pauline Njoroge dismissed claims that the former President is behind internal tensions within the ODM Party.
In a statement issued on Monday, December 29, Njoroge said the criticism directed at Uhuru is driven by discomfort over his continued popularity.
She cited the warm reception he received during Raila Odinga’s funeral as an example.
“Instead of addressing their internal disagreements, some leaders have decided to make Uhuru Kenyatta a scapegoat,” she said.
Njoroge insisted that ODM’s divisions are internal.
She said the disagreements revolve around cooperation with the current government.
She added that Uhuru Kenyatta is not seeking elective office in 2027.
“He has nothing to gain from dividing ODM,” she said.
Njoroge described Uhuru as a respected statesman.
She urged leaders to stop propaganda and political intrigue.
