Kenyans can breathe a sigh of relief after the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) on Saturday, February 14, announced a reduction in fuel prices in its latest monthly review.
In the new pricing schedule, Super Petrol has been reduced by Ksh4.24, Diesel by Ksh3.93, and Kerosene by Ksh1.00. As a result, Super Petrol will now retail at Ksh178.28 per litre, Diesel at Ksh166.54, and Kerosene at Ksh152.78 in Nairobi.
EPRA stated that the calculated maximum retail prices will take effect from February 15 to March 14 this year.

The regulator clarified that the new prices are inclusive of the 16 per cent Value Added Tax (VAT) in line with the provisions of the Finance Act 2023 and the Tax Laws (Amendment) Act 2024.
Daniel Kiptoo Bargoria, the Director General of EPRA, indicated that the price adjustments were influenced by a drop in the average landed cost of imported petroleum products.
According to the regulator, the average landed cost of Super Petrol decreased by 2.69 per cent from Ksh76,288.03 per cubic metre in December to Ksh74,239.91 in January 2026.
Diesel recorded a sharper decline of 6.37 per cent, falling from Ksh80,733.36 to Ksh75,587.29 per cubic metre. Kerosene’s landed cost dropped by 1.44 per cent, from Ksh78,260.16 to Ksh77,135.62 over the same period.
EPRA explained that Kenya imports all its petroleum requirements in refined form and that the products are traded in international markets based on global pricing benchmarks.
The regulator further noted that petroleum products are denominated in United States Dollars, and the prevailing exchange rate is applied when converting prices into Kenyan shillings during the computation of local pump prices.
Motorists in Mombasa will enjoy some of the lowest prices in the country, with Super Petrol retailing at Ksh175.00 per litre, Diesel at Ksh163.26, and Kerosene at Ksh149.49.
The relatively lower prices in Mombasa and other coastal counties are largely attributed to the city’s strategic position as the main entry point for imported petroleum products.
In Nakuru, Super Petrol will retail at Ksh177.34 per litre, Diesel at Ksh165.95, and Kerosene at Ksh152.21. Eldoret residents will pay Ksh178.15 for Super Petrol, Ksh166.77 for Diesel, and Ksh153.03 for Kerosene.
The latest reduction marks the second consecutive fuel price cut since the start of the year. It comes just a month after EPRA lowered fuel prices by Ksh2.00 for the January to February cycle.
The announcement offers welcome relief to motorists and businesses that had anticipated a possible price hike following recent reports of plans to introduce new charges.
For now, consumers can enjoy lower pump prices as global trends and exchange rate movements continue to shape the local fuel market.
