Kenya Premier League giants Gor Mahia have officially parted ways with their head coach, Sinisa Mihic, through mutual agreement, the club announced on Monday.
The 20-time league champions, currently third on the table, confirmed that assistant coaches Zedekiah “Zico” Otieno and Michael “Nam” will take charge of the team in an interim capacity for the remainder of the season.
“We have parted ways with head coach Sinisa Mihic on mutual agreement; the two assistants to take charge on interim basis. We wish Mihic all the best in his endeavours,” read the statement from the club.

Mihic’s departure comes amid speculation of a strained relationship between the Serbian tactician and his assistants, with reports of internal disagreements surfacing earlier this year.
The Serbian coach joined Gor Mahia in February 2025, taking over from Zico, who was then moved to the assistant coach role. His tenure has been under scrutiny, with inconsistent performances and off-pitch friction drawing concern from fans and pundits alike.
Before his stint in Kenya, Mihic had brief coaching spells across the Middle East and Europe. He previously managed Al Fahaheel (2014–2016), Al Shabab (2019–2020), and NK Crikvenica in Croatia (2021). He also had short assistant coaching stints at Al Nasr (Libya) and Al-Merrikh (Sudan), and most recently at Al Samiyah SC, where he only lasted 16 days.
Gor Mahia, the reigning league champions, were held to a goalless draw by Murang’a Seal at SportPesa Arena over the weekend. The result left them seven points behind leaders Kenya Police FC, who only need a win from their remaining two matches—against Shabana FC and Gor Mahia—to seal their maiden league title.
For Gor to retain their title, they must win all three of their remaining fixtures against Ulinzi Stars, AFC Leopards, and Kenya Police FC, and hope their rivals drop points.
