A second suspect has been arrested in the chilling murder case of 31-year-old teacher Albert Ojwang, intensifying the probe into what is shaping up to be a deeply troubling incident implicating law enforcement officers.
Reliable sources close to Citizen Digital confirm that a 23-year-old technician is now in custody for allegedly tampering with the CCTV system at Nairobi’s Central Police Station, where Ojwang was last seen alive.
The technician is said to have disabled the surveillance system for a bribe of Ksh.3,000, effectively erasing key visual evidence that could have revealed whether Ojwang was tortured and killed within the station’s premises.

The Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) had earlier raised concerns over missing CCTV footage, particularly from sensitive areas such as the Officer Commanding Station (OCS) office. This gap in footage posed a major obstacle in establishing the chain of events that led to the teacher’s death.
While addressing the Senate on Wednesday, IPOA Vice Chair Anne Wanjiku disclosed that preliminary investigations indicate that vital CCTV footage had either been deleted or was mysteriously unavailable, fuelling speculation of a cover-up within the station.
The latest arrest comes shortly after Police Constable James Mukhwana, also stationed at Central Police Station, was arrested last Thursday by officers from the Internal Affairs Unit (IAU) working jointly with IPOA.
