Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) are currently reviewing the footage as part of ongoing inquiries.

According to the CCTV recordings, the events began at approximately 4:01 pm, when Babu Owino is seen rising from his seat at one gazebo within the restaurant and walking toward a second gazebo, where Alai was seated.
Robert Alai was in the company of six other men, and initial interactions between the two groups appeared cordial, with handshakes exchanged upon Owino’s arrival.
However, about two minutes and 32 seconds into the encounter, the situation reportedly took a dramatic turn.
The footage shows the Kileleshwa MCA standing up and allegedly shoving Babu Owino, triggering a physical altercation as the Embakasi East lawmaker attempts to defend himself.
Moments later, the confrontation escalates further, with Alai captured on camera drawing what appears to be a firearm and cocking it, causing panic among restaurant patrons, who are seen scattering for safety.
At around 4:09 pm, a female patron is seen approaching the two leaders in an attempt to calm the situation.
However, the footage allegedly shows Alai turning on the woman and striking her.
Another customer who had been observing from a distance is then seen rushing in to intervene and assist the woman.
The altercation reportedly spills over to a third gazebo, during which Alai is seen allegedly throwing an object toward Babu Owino.
The Embakasi East MP is later captured calmly exiting the restaurant through Gate 1, bringing the confrontation to an end.
Despite the footage, Robert Alai has denied any wrongdoing, refuting claims that he brandished a firearm during the incident.
“There was no instance where we drew guns at each other, as alleged, or where I drew a gun at him. I do not think that is a fair analysis of the situation,” Alai said.
Meanwhile, Babu Owino has called on the relevant authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident and ensure that appropriate action is taken in accordance with the law.
The DCI has yet to issue an official statement on the outcome of the investigations.
