The Government of Kenya has officially reintroduced the transformative Kazi Mtaani initiative through a revitalized program dubbed Climate Workx, which is set to roll out on Tuesday, 3rd June 2025. This new large-scale employment drive will offer temporary work opportunities to over 110,000 Kenyan youth aged between 18 and 35 years, with a strong focus on community development and climate resilience.

The program will be implemented under the guidance of engineers from the Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA) and the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA), in partnership with National Government Administration Officers (NGAO). The dual-goal strategy aims to combat youth unemployment while enhancing environmental sustainability and maintaining essential infrastructure.
