The Bombshell Intelligence Desk (BID) is verifying explosive reports that Embakasi East MP Babu Owino and Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro have allegedly come together to form a new political party ahead of the hotly anticipated 2027 General Elections.

The party, reportedly named The Rising Majority (TRM), is said to be designed as a cross-regional force aiming to disrupt the traditional political dichotomy between Kenya Kwanza and Azimio la Umoja.

According to BID sources, David Sankok, the former nominated MP, has been appointed as the chief coordinator of the party. Sankok allegedly held private meetings with both Ndindi Nyoro in Nairobi and Babu Owino in Osim Country during the week that the party’s name was agreed upon.

Broad-Based Political Backing

In a surprising twist, the new movement is said to be enjoying quiet support from several prominent leaders across the political divide — including former allies of retired President Uhuru Kenyatta. Among them are George Natembeya, Irungu Kang’ata, James Orengo, Anyang’ Nyong’o, Mutula Kilonzo Jr., Enoch Wambua, Moses Kajwang, Edwin Sifuna, Richard Onyonka, and Okiya Omtatah.

The formation of TRM could signal a major realignment ahead of 2027, potentially emerging as a “third force” in Kenya’s political landscape.

Raila-Ruto Alliance Under Pressure

Meanwhile, sources intimate that ODM leader Raila Odinga has begun distancing himself from President William Ruto, following increasing discomfort within ODM’s rank and file over the recent Ruto-Raila pact.

Just yesterday, Raila reportedly convened a private meeting with ODM officials at his Nairobi residence, where he signaled intentions to consult elected leaders before making a final decision on whether to maintain the alliance.

Political analysts believe pressure is mounting on Raila to withdraw support for the current administration to preserve his political legacy and prevent an internal fallout — particularly with youthful leaders like Babu Owino positioning themselves independently.

Ruto’s Counterstrategy

On his part, President Ruto is reportedly toying with strategies to neutralize Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s influence in the Mt. Kenya region. Insiders claim he has been advised to fund smaller regional parties to keep the area fragmented and politically manageable.

BID reports also suggest that Ruto has reached out to a powerful female politician in the region and presented her with three party name options for a new political vehicle:

  1. The Unity Front (TUF)
  2. The Reforms Engine (TRE)
  3. Liberty Rising (LR)

Whichever name is chosen, resources are reportedly being set aside to launch the party as early as mid-2025.

A Warning for Raila

BID sources further reveal that Raila has been warned by key strategists that his continued association with Ruto may damage both their standings, opening the door for TRM to steal the youth and reform-minded voter base.

“If Raila doesn’t pull out soon,” one source stated, “Babu Owino might carry his massive Gen-Z following and join the new movement, leaving the ODM base fractured.”

As political tensions simmer, Kenya’s 2027 race appears to be shaping into a dramatic three-horse contest — and the game is only just beginning.
