The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has activated its online portal for checking the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) provisional results, ahead of the official release of the examination outcomes.
A spot check by fmfixhub.co.ke confirmed that the KCSE results checking system is currently live, with a notice displayed on the KNEC portal indicating readiness for public access once the results are formally announced.
However, candidates and the public have been cautioned that the provisional results cannot yet be accessed. According to the notice on the portal, results will only be available after KNEC officially releases them.

“2025 KCSE Provisional Results: Checking of KCSE Examination Provisional Results will be available after official release,” the message read in part.
The early activation of the portal is a routine preparatory step by KNEC aimed at testing the system’s functionality and ensuring it can handle heavy traffic once the results are made public.
This move is intended to minimise delays and technical hitches that often occur when thousands of candidates, parents, and teachers attempt to access the platform simultaneously.
Once the results are officially released, candidates will be required to enter their KCSE index numbers and examination year on the portal to view their provisional results.
KCSE Results Release Timeline
The portal activation comes just days after Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba dismissed viral claims circulating on social media that the 2025 KCSE results had already been released.
In a statement issued on Saturday, January 3, Ogamba refuted reports alleging that Kapsabet Boys High School had emerged as the top school nationally, describing the claims as false.
“Treat such fake and misleading news with the contempt it deserves,” the CS said, flagging the information as fake and misleading.
Nonetheless, while speaking at the Omogusii Cultural Festival held at Kenyoro School Groups in North Mugirango a week earlier, Ogamba had assured the public that the KCSE results would be released within two weeks.
“The KCSE examination results will be released within the next two weeks. Traditionally, the KCSE examinations are normally announced in January, and we are keeping it to that tradition,” he stated.
The 2025 KCSE examinations concluded on November 21, 2025, after approximately five weeks of continuous assessments that began on October 21.
Candidates and parents are now urged to remain patient and rely on official communication from KNEC and the Ministry of Education regarding the exact release date.
