The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has announced the commencement of registration for the 2025 KCSE July Series examinations. The registration window opens on Monday, 27th January 2025, and closes on Friday, 21st February 2025.
Who is Eligible?
The July series caters to specific groups of candidates, including:
- Repeaters:
- Full Repeaters: Candidates retaking all seven or more subjects.
- Partial Repeaters: Candidates retaking fewer than seven subjects.
- Candidates Affected by Unforeseen Circumstances:
- Those previously registered for KCSE but unable to sit for the exams due to valid reasons.
- Adult Learners:
- Individuals not enrolled in regular schools but with proof of having completed the requisite primary education qualifications.
Registration Process
Registration will be conducted through County headquarters under the coordination of County Directors of Education (CDEs) via the KNEC registration portal. For candidates based in Nairobi, the process will take place at New Mitihani House, South C.

Mandatory Registration Fee
A registration fee of Ksh 7,200 will be required from all candidates. Payment should be made at the time of registration through E-Citizen, following the guidelines provided on the KNEC registration platform.
Important Note for Repeaters and Private Candidates
All repeaters and private candidates must register for the July Series and not the November KCSE examination series.
This new series provides an opportunity for students and adult learners to enhance their academic qualifications or make up for missed examinations. Candidates are encouraged to register within the specified timeline to avoid disqualification.
