Residents across parts of Kisumu, Kisii, Nyeri, Murang’a, and Tharaka Nithi counties are expected to experience temporary power outages on Thursday and Friday this week, as the Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) undertakes planned maintenance works on its infrastructure.
In a public notice, KPLC indicated that the scheduled interruptions aim to enhance the reliability and quality of electricity supply in the affected regions.
Areas to Be Affected on Friday, April 11, 2025:
Kisumu County – Ahero Town
Time: 9:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M.
Affected Areas: Nyamasaria, Buoye, Rabuor, Namba Okana, Trida Factories, Jumbo Factories, West Kano Irrigation Scheme, Nyangande Market, Mgingo Girls, Ahero Market, and surrounding areas.

KPLC has advised residents and businesses in the mentioned areas to plan accordingly and treat all power lines as live during the outage period.
