MP Dies After Short Illness

Isiolo South Member of Parliament Mohamed Tubi Bidu has passed away after a short illness.

Reports indicate that the legislator died on Wednesday evening while receiving treatment at Nairobi Hospital.

Until his death, Tubi was serving his first term in Parliament, where he was a member of the Departmental Committee on Environment and the Public Petitions Committee.

He was elected to represent Isiolo South Constituency in the August 2022 General Election under the Jubilee Party ticket.

Before joining national politics, the late MP served as the Speaker of the Isiolo County Assembly between 2013 and 2017, earning respect for his leadership and dedication to public service.

Confirming the news, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula described Tubi’s death as a profound loss to Parliament and the nation.

“As we come to terms with this great loss, let us remember Tubi for his remarkable service and the positive impact he had on our nation. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, constituents, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him,” Wetang’ula said.

President William Ruto also mourned the fallen legislator, describing him as a dedicated public servant and a passionate advocate for education.

“His commitment to transforming the lives of his constituents and advancing development in Isiolo stands as a lasting legacy of his leadership,” the President said.

“May the Almighty God rest his soul in eternal peace and comfort his loved ones during this difficult time.”
