President William Ruto is set to kick off a week-long tour of Nairobi, aimed at popularizing his recent cooperation agreement with former Prime Minister Raila Odinga. The tour, which begins in Kamkunji constituency, will focus on launching various development projects, including roads, hospitals, schools, and street lighting.
According to State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohammed, the projects align with the Bottom-Up Economic Agenda, covering key sectors such as affordable housing, education, and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions. Nairobi, a traditional stronghold of Odinga’s Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), has been chosen as the starting point to showcase the benefits of the newly signed pact.
While it remains unclear whether Odinga will accompany the President on the tour, ODM Members of Parliament have been briefed to participate. The agreement is expected to significantly alter Nairobi’s political landscape as the country gears up for the 2027 General Election, with analysts predicting both political beneficiaries and casualties.

However, not all leaders appear to be on board. Embakasi Central MP Benjamin Gathiru, an ally of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, claimed he was unaware of the tour, suggesting that certain leaders may have been sidelined in the process.
