TSC Announces 9,159 Job Openings for Teachers Across Kenya. Here’s how to Apply

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced 9,159 vacancies to replace teachers who exited service in public schools through natural attrition.

The recruitment targets Primary, Junior and Secondary schools, with successful candidates set to serve on Permanent and Pensionable terms.

According to the commission, the vacancies are distributed as follows:

  • 7,065 posts for Primary Schools
  • 12 posts for Junior Schools
  • 2,082 posts for Secondary Schools

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for recruitment, applicants must meet the following conditions:

  1. Be a Kenyan citizen.
  2. Hold a minimum P1 certificate for Primary School applications, or a Diploma in Education for Junior and Secondary Schools.
  3. Be a registered teacher with TSC.

How to Apply

Interested candidates are required to submit applications online only through:

  • www.tsc.go.ke under the “Careers” section, or
  • teachersonline.tsc.go.ke

The application deadline is 8th December 2025 at midnight.

Important Recruitment Guidelines

The Teachers Service Commission notes that:

  • The 2025/2026 recruitment guidelines will apply.
  • Merit lists generated will be used for future recruitment within the same financial year.
  • Shortlisted candidates must present original academic and professional certificates.
  • Candidates must submit only one application; multiple submissions will result in disqualification.
  • Manual applications will not be accepted.
  • Priority will be given to applicants who have never been employed by TSC.
  • Successful applicants may be posted to any part of the country, not necessarily where the interview was conducted.

Warning Against Fraud

TSC cautioned applicants that the recruitment process is free of charge and warned them to beware of fraudsters posing as facilitators.

  • TSC headquarters via telephone numbers provided in the notice, or
  • The email dirstaffing@tsc.go.ke.

Fraud cases may also be reported to the nearest police station.
