Juja Member of Parliament George Koimburi, who was reported missing on Sunday, has been found unconscious in a coffee plantation in the Kibichoi area of Kiambu County.
Koimburi was discovered early Monday morning, still dressed in the navy blue suit he wore the day before.
He had visible injuries and is said to have been assaulted by his abductors. Witnesses at the scene said he was picked up by an ambulance and rushed to Karen Hospital for treatment.

The MP’s disappearance caused alarm after he was allegedly abducted on Sunday afternoon outside a church in Kiambu.
According to his wife, Ann Koimburi, two plainclothes men—posing as worshippers—grabbed him and forced him into a waiting Subaru Forester, which had tampered number plates. The assailants did not identify themselves and quickly drove off with the lawmaker.
Police have since denied any involvement in the incident and confirmed that investigations are underway. Officers say they intend to speak with the MP once his condition stabilizes to help uncover the details surrounding the abduction.
“We received a report from the family and are treating the matter seriously. We want to establish who was behind the incident and why,” said a senior police officer familiar with the probe.
The motive behind the abduction remains unclear.
Former Deputy President and Democratic Change Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua, a close political ally of Koimburi, has condemned the incident.
Speaking Monday morning, Gachagua claimed the abduction was part of a wider pattern of political persecution against opposition leaders.
“This is not an isolated case. It’s evident that the government is targeting supporters of DCP in a bid to frustrate our campaign and intimidate the opposition,” said Gachagua.
The incident comes just a day after police dispersed DCP supporters in Kakamega during a planned rally. The party’s deputy leader, Cleophas Malala, also had his vehicle impounded for alleged traffic violations.
As of the time of publication, the government has not issued an official statement regarding Koimburi’s abduction.
