Man stabs brother to death in Sh20,000 dispute

Police in Nairobi have launched a manhunt for a 24-year-old man accused of fatally stabbing his elder brother following a family dispute over Sh20,000 in Kawangware.

According to police reports, the tragic incident occurred on the night of June 10, 2026, in the Kawangware 56 area.

The deceased, identified as Francis Egesa, 31, and his younger brother reportedly became embroiled in a heated argument over money that had been sent by another sibling.

Investigators say the disagreement quickly escalated into a physical confrontation before their sister intervened and separated the two, pushing them outside their rented house in an attempt to restore calm.

However, authorities allege that the younger brother later requested permission to re-enter the house to retrieve his mobile phone.

Once inside, he is said to have picked up a kitchen knife and stabbed Egesa in the upper abdomen before fleeing the scene.

The victim was rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital by his sister and members of the public, where he was admitted in critical condition.

Despite efforts by medical personnel, Egesa succumbed to his injuries on June 11 at approximately 8:00 p.m.

His body was moved to the Kenyatta National Hospital Mortuary pending a post-mortem examination.

Police have since launched a search for the suspect, who remains at large as investigations continue.

Dismembered Human Remains Recovered in Nyeri

In a separate incident, detectives in Nyeri Central Subcounty are investigating the discovery of dismembered human remains found within Mumbi Estate in Nyeri County.

Police reported that officers recovered a sack containing two human legs and two hands believed to be connected to an earlier reported incident.

Preliminary examinations revealed that the legs were missing feet while the hands had no fingers. Investigators further noted that the remains appeared unusually well-preserved, showing no visible traces of blood and exhibiting a cold, almost frozen condition.

Crime scene personnel documented and processed the scene before transporting the recovered body parts to the Nyeri County Referral Hospital Mortuary for post-mortem examination and forensic analysis.

Authorities have intensified investigations to establish the identity of the victim and determine the circumstances surrounding the killing, dismemberment, and disposal of the remains.

Nandi Man Dies Following Alleged Assault

Meanwhile, police in Nandi Subcounty are investigating the death of a 37-year-old man following an alleged assault in the Kibuwareng area.

The deceased, identified as Silas Kiplangat Keter, is reported to have been involved in a confrontation with Wilson Kiprono Limo, 32.

According to investigators, the altercation turned violent when Keter was allegedly struck on the head with a blunt object, leaving him with serious injuries.

He was later discovered injured inside his house and rushed to Kapsabet Sub-County Referral Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The body was transferred to Samaritan Farewell Home Mortuary pending a post-mortem examination.

The suspect was arrested by members of the public shortly after the incident and handed over to officers at Kibuwareng Police Post. He remains in custody awaiting arraignment as police continue with investigations.

Authorities have urged members of the public to report any information that may assist in the ongoing investigations into the three incidents.
