Teacher Arrested After Allegedly Being Found with Student in Rented House

A 21-year-old trainee teacher attached to St. Bakhita Ebusiratsi Girls Secondary School in Vihiga County has been arrested after he was allegedly found in the company of a 17-year-old student at a rented house.

The trainee teacher, identified as Charles Musalia Andefo, was taken into police custody following a tip-off from members of the public who became suspicious after reportedly seeing him enter the house with the schoolgirl.

According to police reports, officers responded to the information and proceeded to the residence, where they found the house locked from the inside. After knocking on the door, the occupants opened it, allowing officers to enter and conduct further inquiries.

Upon entering the premises, police allegedly found Andefo and the student inside the house.

Preliminary investigations established that the girl is a student at St. Bakhita Ebusiratsi Girls Secondary School, the same institution where Andefo was undertaking his teaching practice as part of his training.

Further investigations revealed that the rental house where the pair was found had reportedly been leased by another teacher at the school, identified as Testimony Elolo Garo.
