The Public Service Commission (PSC) has officially invited applications for the Public Service Internship Programme (PSIP) Cohort 9 for the 2026/2027 Financial Year, offering graduates an opportunity to gain practical work experience in Government Ministries, State Departments, State Agencies, Corporations, and Public Universities.
The year-long internship programme is part of the government’s youth empowerment initiative aimed at equipping graduates with hands-on skills, enhancing employability, expanding professional networks, and fostering entrepreneurship.

Internship Requirements
To qualify for the internship programme, applicants must:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in any discipline.
- Have graduated not earlier than 2020.
- Be proficient in computer applications.
- Not have previously benefited from a similar government internship programme.
Internship Responsibilities
Successful interns will be expected to:
- Perform duties assigned by their supervisors.
- Document and demonstrate skills acquired during their deployment.
- Participate in mentorship programmes and other professional development activities.
- Undertake additional responsibilities relevant to their placement.
Internship Duration and Benefits
The internship will run for 12 months and is non-renewable.
Interns will receive a government stipend throughout the programme, with the amount determined by the Government of Kenya. Upon successful completion, participants will also be awarded an official internship certificate.
