The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has officially announced the recruitment of 20,000 Post Primary Teachers to serve in Junior Schools across Kenya under Permanent and Pensionable (P&P) terms.
The recruitment is aimed at strengthening the implementation of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) by addressing the growing demand for qualified teachers in Junior Secondary Schools.
According to the recruitment notice, interested and qualified candidates are required to submit their applications online through the TSC recruitment portals under the Careers section.

The application window opens on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, and closes at midnight on Monday, August 31, 2026.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for the recruitment exercise, applicants must:
- Be a Kenyan citizen.
- Hold at least a Diploma in Education.
- Have attained a minimum KCSE mean grade of C+ (Plus) and C+ (Plus) in two teaching subjects, or an equivalent qualification.
- Be a registered teacher with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
Applicants with equivalent qualifications are advised to consult the TSC website for further guidance.
Recruitment Guidelines
The Commission emphasized that:
- Applications must be submitted online only; manual applications will not be accepted.
- Candidates must be unemployed and should not have exited TSC employment on disciplinary grounds.
- Successful applicants will be selected strictly on merit and based on the number of vacancies available in each county.
- Candidates shortlisted for interviews must present original academic and professional certificates.
- Teachers recruited will be expected to teach various learning areas under the Junior School curriculum.
- Current Junior School teacher interns will be retained in their existing stations or sub-counties.
Free and Fair Recruitment
TSC has reiterated that the recruitment exercise is completely free of charge and has cautioned applicants against fraudsters claiming to influence the recruitment process in exchange for money.
Any suspected cases of fraud should be reported to the nearest TSC office, the Commission’s headquarters, or the nearest police station. Reports can also be made through the Commission’s staffing contacts and official email.
